Pediatric Urology

Pediatric urological problems that can be treated in my practice include:

  • Phimosis: Narrowing of the foreskin, which is common in boys and can usually be corrected with gentle conservative measures or simple surgical intervention.
  • Cryptorchidism: Undescended testicles should be treated in a timely manner to minimize future fertility issues and the risk of developing testicular cancer.
  • Hydrocele: Accumulation of fluid around the testicle can usually be eliminated with a minor surgical operation.
  • Urinary Incontinence (Enuresis): Through a combination of behavioral changes, medication therapy, and if necessary, other diagnostic measures, enuresis can be effectively treated.

Young patients with complex urological pathology are referred to the pediatric urology department at Ordensklinikum Linz Barmherzige Schwestern. Here, patients from all over Austria suffering from severe hypospadias, severe reflux disease, and severe urological anomalies are treated.
